We invite EVERYONE to bring their backpack, briefcase, lunch bag or tote bag to church on Sunday, August 9, for a special blessing to begin the school year surrounded in prayer. We will also hand out this year’s backpack tag so you can take the blessing with you into class.

Join us for a fun and sustainable way to refresh your wardrobe while supporting a great cause. Bring gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories to swap, and discover new-to-you pieces—all while helping raise funds for the Immigrant Emergency Relief Fund (IERF).

How it works

• Bring clean, gently used items you no longer wear 

• Pay $5 donation at the door if you bring clothes to swap

• $10 if you don’t have swaps and just want to shop

• Swap for “new” pieces brought by others

• Any leftover items will be donated

FUMC invites you to our BBQ Sandwich Drive Thru fundraiser. Let us do the cooking on Wednesday, April 15! The meal consists of your choice of sandwich (tri-tip, chicken or linguica), fruit, chips and cookies for a $15 donation. Donation tickets are also available to provide meals for the We Care homeless shelter. Tickets will be available Sundays and during church office hours. Easter Egg Hunt -
Sunday, April 5 - 10:30 AM

Please join us for our annual Easter Egg hunt on the front lawn following worship. We will have bags available to collect eggs. Please have kids line up on the sidewalk after worship. They will be called by age for our egg hunt. Fellowship will also be provided on the front lawn.

Please join us to do a little spring cleaning at church before Holy Week begins. Many hands make light work, we’d love your help! Jobs for all levels. Join us Saturday, March 28, any time between 8:30 AM - 11:30 am. We will also have Sanctuary cleaning days March 10, 11, 12 and 16 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. Please sign up in the Narthex and let us know where where you'd like to help.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. Through the service of ashes on the first day of Lent, we come before God recognizing our humanity, repenting of our sin, and remembering who we are and who we can be. Come enjoy a night of food, fun and fellowship! Our United Women of Faith will be hosting, Burritos and Bingo on Saturday, January 31 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Cost for your build your own burrito dinner is only $25 and you will receive free bingo cards. Any proceeds will benefit our youth going on a mission trip with Sierra Service Project this summer. Make sure you save the date for BINGO, you might even win a prize! All ages welcome! Tickets will be available at the scrip table this Sunday.

This worship service is presented by our children and youth. Come enjoy reflective and joyful music and drama that celebrate the Advent season.

Our United Methodist Women host a holiday tea and boutique each year on the first Saturday in December. Mark your calendar for December 6. The Boutique will open at 1:00 pm in Asbury Hall, filled with homemade goods and crafts. The program featuring the Pitman High School Madrigal Choir under the direction of Yohan Partan begins at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary, with the tea immediately following. Table space is limited, so please contact our church office at 668-3000 or Paulette Cooper for reservations. Cost is $10 per person which includes tea, sandwiches and cookies.  Please let us know if you or a guest require gluten free, vegan or nut free options.

Enjoy Thanksgiving with your church family!

This year, we’ll have a Thanksgiving Potluck at FUMC on Thanksgiving, November 27, 2024 12:00 pm, in the Social Hall.

There are some seats left on the bus trip for Nov 22, 2025 for lunch at Rivers Edge in Knights Ferry and then to the Sonora Playhouse and see the Million Dollar Quartet Christmas. Cost is $40.00 per person. Lunch is not included. The bus leaves at 10:30 from the church. For more information or to RSVP contact Trish in the office.

Trunk or Treat is Canceled!

We are disappointed to announce that we will unfortunately have to cancel our annual Trunk or Treat. The City of Turlock is doing road maintenance and repairs on Arbor Way and currently the road is closed and the sidewalks have been removed creating hazardous conditions. We made the difficult decision to cancel this years festivities.

Sorry for any inconvenience. We will look forward to bringing back our Trunk or Treat in 2026!

We are looking forward to this special evening with the church family at Latif's by Pedretti. Tickets are limited to 100 and will be on sale beginning August 31 at church. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex for those willing and able to make and donate a dessert for our opportunity drawing. This event will be a wonderful dinner with our church family and one that does not require a lot of volunteers. So, get your tickets while they last and join us for a wonderful evening of fellowship and delicious food. Tickets will be available on Sundays and during office hours: Tuesday - Thursday, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Social hour begins at 5:00 p.m. and dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Seating is open, so if you have special friends to sit with, please arrive early to get your table.
