Come to the Table
It has been our custom to “Come to the Table” on the first Sunday of every month, to share the bread and the cup of Holy Communion, and to be reminded that we are united as the body of Christ, the creation-spanning family of God’s children.
Due to the suspension of in-person on-campus Worship Services, we have not gathered physically around the table since March 1.
As we celebrate our nation’s birth and the founding principles of liberty, justice, dignity and respect as the God-given inheritance of everyone born ― and how these values resonate with our faith, it seems appropriate to Come to the Table virtually and be reminded of our unity in Christ.
If you wish to represent the meal of remembrance as you watch, you may want to prepare bread, a tortilla or cracker, and juice, water, or wine ― elements meaningful to you ― before starting the video.
